For those who are new to my blog, I’m a CT Photographer specializing in newborn and maternity photography. I am so happy to be a part of these families special time and truly hope you enjoy this recent post. Here is a little peek into a recent Newborn Session with Miss Piper from Coventry, CT.

Piper Newborn Session

New mom Amy contacted Melissa Hartigan Photography to do a Newborn Session in my Coventry, CT studio with her new beautiful little baby girl Piper.  I was honored that Piper’s parents chose me to capture this special time especially since they had used me previously for mom Amy’s Maternity shoot and Piper’s Fresh 48 Session. When a new mom contacts me, I ask if they would like we set up a time to meet in person so that we can sit down and discuss their hopes for their session.  With each and every session I custom design the setups used based on these meetings.

We had her in-studio shoot when Piper was 10 days old. Piper never made a peep and slept like an angel the entire time. She was so cute, with her adorable little lips and cheeks.  I was able to capture some beautiful photos of Piper. Just look at her so peacefully sleeping as I posed her in different set-ups. Big brother Trip loves his new little sister and was amazing when we did the sibling shots. I even got a beautiful shot of the entire family. I absolutely love newborn and maternity photography, and love that families choose me repeatedly to capture these special moments in their lives.

Mom choose Blues.

Miss Piper’s mom choose the color blue, with hints of pinks and corals for her Newborn Session. I also decided to add in some cream tones as well. The props I hand selected worked perfectly for her, and white bucket was especially cute to show off those adorable cheeks. Love that I was able to capture a smile with her tongue sticking out. Also throughout the session I used several headbands, little outfits and wraps.

Melissa Hartigan Photography has an extensive prop collection and a beautiful couture newborn wardrobe. Parents don’t need to worry about props or setups for their baby. I have it all covered. Clients just need to tell me two colors they would like to see used and from there I custom style their newborn session. Check out my Newborn Gallery for some posing and color ideas. For Piper’s session, I used wraps from Red Owl Photo Props and cute headbands and outfits from Pooks and Lulu.
