Hey there I’m Melissa Hartigan, founder of Melissa Hartigan Photography
Thank you for taking the time to look at my website.
My first love is my family! I have a wonderful husband, five beautiful children and a dog, I would not be where I am today without their love and support.
My second love is photography! While I have always had a passion for photography, it wasn’t until after my twins turned one that I decided I wanted to turn my passion of photography into a career. I absolutely LOVE taking pictures; I put my heart into each and every photograph that I take. To me, nothing is more fulfilling than capturing a moment, an expression or an emotion. I absolutely love documenting those special moments.… the details that you will have to look back on and cherish forever. Whether it be your infant’s first smile, your child’s silly ways, your teen’s senior portrait, the strength of your family; whatever the occasion or celebration is, I will joyfully capture it with the ‘click’ of my button.
People sometimes ask me where I come up with an idea for a shot… I look for inspiration everywhere I go, I sometimes feel as though I am looking at the world through my camera. My style of photography is based on genuine expressions, the twinkle in a child’s eye when they smile, funny faces, pouty tears, giggles, shy grins and even frowns. I love natural light and studio photography while also incorporating black and white timeless images as well. Every time I look at an image I have taken it takes my breath away, I know that I am doing what I was born to do. I have a real special spot for moms-to-be and newborns. There really is nothing like becoming a mom or meeting a newborn for the first time, children truly are a gift from god.
Newborn photography is my niche. I love everything about it and enjoy working with each and every family. It’s such an amazing time in people’s lives. I also enjoy maternity photography as well as photographing children and families.
Whether it is a maternity session or your newborns first days, your baby’s first smile, your toddlers silly ways or a portrait of your entire family… each and every photograph tells a story, that photograph will never age and it is something you will have to look back on and to cherish forever. I would love to have the opportunity to capture your memories; to me nothing is more fulfilling than capturing a moment, an expression or an emotion that is at the core of a relationship. Sweet Cameron, he has the most beautiful blue eyes. I have photographed all of his sibling as well as him as a newborn. I love being apart of all this sweet families milestones.

It was such an honor to welcome twin brothers Benjamin Richard, and Joseph William into my studio for their newborn session. These precious little boys already share an incredible bond, one that will grow stronger with every milestone they experience together. They were amazing and I`m not sure either made a peep.
Photographing newborns is always so special, but capturing twins is a beautiful reminder that some of life’s greatest blessings come in pairs. Every tiny yawn, little stretch, and peaceful cuddle is a memory their family will cherish forever.
