Maternity Sessions can be beautiful and serene, or fun and flashy. Just depends on the client’s personality and vision they have for their photos. As a CT Newborn and Maternity Photographer, I like to customize every session for my clients and give them memorable photos. I want these photos to capture everything they are feeling about the amazing arrival of their new little one. Here’s a sneak peek into my Timeless Maternity Session with the lovely Thamar.

Thamar Timeless Maternity Session

Thamar contacted Melissa Hartigan Photography to do a Timeless Maternity Session. A Timeless Maternity Session is a 30 minute in-studio or outdoor session and also includes use of my beautiful maternity wardrobe. I encourage the use of at least one gown. There are so many colors and styles to choose from and they accentuate the pregnant body, showing off that gorgeous baby bump. I had just ordered these two gorgeous sequined gowns when Thamar contacted me for a maternity session and after chatting I knew these gowns were perfect for her in-door session.

Go Big or Go Home

Thamar and her husband Joe are a fun, over-the-top-couple, who love being flashy and fun.  They love to throw big parties and try to always be one step ahead of the trends. After talking to her about the two new gowns I have, I knew that I wanted to created a gorgeous, posh look to her maternity session. She looked so stunning in my long, gold maternity dress with just a simple white backdrop. Her vibrant smile conveyed how excited and in love she was with her new little one growing in her belly. I also loved the long, black dress she choose. The photos of the close-up of her belly while wearing the dress is a favorite of mine.

I love to get the whole family in the photos for a Maternity session.  I did a few of just Thamar and Joe. They looked so in love as they posed together, holding her belly. Thamar really wanted a few images with their little boy Julian.  As with most toddlers, he like to play and be active. He was not keen on sitting or being still for a photo session. Nevertheless, I never give up especially when I know how much it means to my client. We used a few tricks and were able to get him to sit or stand long enough for a few quick shots. I love the photo of Julian reaching up on his toes to kiss his mom’s belly. He’s going to be a wonderful big brother, and I feel so honored that I got to photograph this special time for this family.
