Maternity and Newborn CT Photographer | Issac Maternity & Newborn Session

Hello! Thank you for visiting Melissa Hartigan Photography and viewing my most recent blog post, Issac Maternity & Newborn Session. For those who are new to my blog, I’m a Maternity and Newborn CT Photographer based out of Coventry, Connecticut. I love being a professional photographer and capturing my clients stories, emotions and freezing their moments in time. It really does bring me so much joy. I am so happy to be a part of these families special time and truly hope you enjoy this recent post. Here is a little peek into a recent Maternity Session with mommy-to-be Sandra and a Newborn Session her little one Isaac.

Sandra’s Maternity Session

Maternity Sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate bringing a baby into the world! They are among my favorite sessions to do. Usually I meet with my clients at my studio in Coventry, CT prior to their photo shoot to go over session options and try on gowns, but Sandra had a very busy schedule. Instead, I referred her to my website to look my extensive maternity gown collection and to also check out Sew Trendy Accessories, as I own most of their gowns as well. As a Maternity and Newborn CT Photographer, I love to help my clients choose gowns that will accentuate their pregnant body, showing off that gorgeous baby bump. Sandra sent me a few images of gowns she liked and we settled on the stunning white gown shown in her images as well as a beautiful dress she owned.

Outdoor November Photo Shoot

We had Sandra’s Maternity Session on a very chilly day in November.  It was cold but looking at the photos you would never know it. The light was gorgeous and their Maternity Session took place at my favorite secret location. The amazing outdoor colors against her white dress made her stand out so beautifully. The love between Sandra and her husband Devon was captured perfectly, and mommy-to-be was absolutely glowing.

When it comes to the session, I adore capturing my client’s joy and excitement for the baby mom is growing in her belly. The images I take are are meant to be treasured. They are photos to be kept and looked back on for many years to come. They are meant to show your new baby what he or she looked like when they were growing in your belly, trust me they will ask! As a Maternity and Newborn CT Photographer, I will help you pose, help with hand placement and so on, but then I let you be. This is when the true feelings emerge and I capture the best images. Her photos came out stunning and I couldn’t wait to do their Newborn Session when their baby arrives.

Isaac’s Newborn Session

Little Isaac was born two days after Christmas and came in at 13 days old in January for his Newborn Session. All Newborn Sessions take place in my private Coventry, CT studio. The images that we captured during his photo shoot are timeless treasures. Isaac is such a handsome baby; I know mom and dad will enjoy looking back at these images over the years!

When a new mom contacts me, if they would like, we set up a time to meet in person so that we can sit down and discuss their hopes for their session.  Although we were unable to meet in person before Isaac’s session, we communicated via email to discuss the details of his photo shoot. With each and every session I custom design the setups used based on these discussions. I was so honored that I would be the photographer to take Issac’s first professional images. Thank you!

Mom requested Blue and Ivory.

I loved the blue and ivory colors Sandra chose for Isaac’s session. Melissa Hartigan Photography has an extensive prop collection and a beautiful couture newborn wardrobe for use during the Newborn Sessions. Parents don’t need to worry about props or set ups for their baby. I have it all taken care of. All my clients need to do is tell me two colors they would like to see used; from there I take care of the rest. Check out my Newborn Gallery for some posing and color ideas.

Isaac was such an adorable baby and I Iove his goregous, full head of hair. He was perfect and never made a peep throughout the entire session. I was able to get him into some really cute poses and use some great props, like my antique bucket. The outfits I hand selected worked perfectly for him and he looked especially adorable in the knitted blue overalls. Throughout the session I used outfits and accessories from No.2 Willow lane, Little Bean Creations, and Pooks and Lulu. His mom and dad were able to relax in my kitchen during the session. I have tea and coffee, as well as a fridge with an assortment of beverages and snacks for the parent’s to enjoy during the session.
