I absolutely love taking photos of expectant couples, babies and families. Baby Photography isn’t just photographing newborns; it’s also capturing babies of all ages and capturing all the special baby milestones throughout their first year after birth. Here is a little peek into Mae’s All-Inclusive One Year Baby Milestone session. This is her baby story.

Mae One Year Cake Smash – Baby Photography West Hartford

Sweet little Mae came to my studio for her All-Inclusive Milestone Session to celebrate her one-year milestone that her mom Gillian booked for her. Having photographed Mae since she was a newborn, along with a Santa Session and a family holiday session, it was such a treat to see her again to capture this very sweet and very special moment for her mama and dad. I love capturing baby milestone sessions after newborn sessions, because not only do I get to capture more baby memories for parents but I also get to see just how much my littlest clients have grown throughout the year since capturing their newborn pictures. It always amazes me seeing the sweet little babies I posed and photographed throughout their first year and capturing these moments.

When it came to Mae’s cake smash, we did a pretty and feminine smash cake from Custom Cakes by Carrie and complimentary designed set-up with pink and gold colors and lots of rose flowers. I love and have so much fun designing and creating custom setups for my photography sessions. With all cake smash milestone sessions, we always do a few non-cake setups before we get to the fun part. Mae was excited when she saw her cake and she was more than happy to taste her sweet treat and make a little bit of a mess.

As a family, they love to be outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. They love going over to Elizabeth Park. She’s such a sweet, happy little girl and full of so many tender expressions. Gillian and Jeffrey are so lucky to have such a beautifully sweet, fun baby girl to love on.

As a Maternity and Baby Photographer, I get the pleasure of meeting new families with new babies every day. Not only do I love being a newborn photographer, but I also love photographing babies of all ages and capturing all those special baby milestones from pushing up, sitting up, standing up, their first birthday milestone and all the baby details like first baby teeth and the adorable toothy grins. As quick as the newborn stage passes, so does a baby’s first year and all the different stages of the baby milestones. It’s so important not to miss capturing those major milestones and details either.

When it comes to studio outfits and setups, I am always adding beautiful new knitted and handmade props to my studio baby and child prop collection.  Melissa Hartigan Photography clients always have access to these props for their newborn sessions as well as baby milestone sessions. You don’t need to worry about bringing anything for your session except yourselves and your happy baby ready to have their picture taken. Props are always pre-selected based off the color choices that you choose prior to your session. Custom set-ups are then designed around your color choices. Everything is always prepared and ready to begin once you arrive for your baby milestone session. For Thomas’ sitting up milestone session all outfits were from the MHP tiny client closet.
