Expecting a baby is such an exciting time in your life, and documenting your pregnancy is a wonderful way to celebrate bringing your baby into the world while waiting for your baby to arrive. Maternity photography is among my favorite sessions to photograph. When a client schedules a maternity and newborn session with MHP, I am documenting their beautiful moments as new parents-to-be. For Raven and Simon, this is a little glimpse into their beautiful journey into parenthood with their first baby.

Gorgeous Studio & Outdoor Maternity Photos – New Britain CT Maternity Photography

Raven and Simon contacted me to schedule a maternity session and capture their pregnancy moments while they awaited the arrival of their first baby. They booked the Heirloom Maternity Session and added on an outdoor location setting to their session. The Heirloom Maternity Session is a wonderful session choice for new parents-to-be looking to capture this special time in their life before they welcome their new baby.

As soon as I met Raven and Simon, I could see their chemistry and envision the beautiful maternity imagery that we would capture both in the studio and outside at our selected location. The day of their session, it was quite cold outside so we opted to spend just a little bit of time capturing some pregnancy photos outside and the majority of the session time inside capturing gorgeous studio maternity pictures. It is no surprise that these two have a fun side to themselves and felt so comfortable in front of my camera and were the reason their maternity photos are absolutely stunning! Wouldn’t you agree?!

Together as a couple, they love to travel, enjoy a night out at the movies to watch a thriller, they are both down to earth and love to try new things, they both love Broadway plays and musicals and they enjoy going out for dinner and trying new food. Originally from Harlem, Raven is a true New Yorker and does not drive. Raven likes to draw and listen to music while Simon enjoys being active and likes to run marathons.

Raven had the sweetest smile in all the maternity pictures of her, and she looked absolutely stunning in the all the maternity gowns that she selected to wear for her maternity photos captured outdoors and in studio. The lace dress is oh-so pretty, but my favorite is the white form fitting maternity gown alongside the studio window setup with the white drapery. So light, so airy, and a stunning mama-to-be!

The maternity dresses Raven wore during her session were borrowed from my studio client wardrobe closet that is available to all maternity clients to use for their sessions. The maternity client wardrobe is carefully curated with beautiful gowns brought in from Sew Trendy Accessories to fit the couture and boutique style of maternity photography. Mamas love having a selection of dresses and gowns to choose from to use for their pregnancy photos, and I am always happy to include these as part of scheduling your maternity session with Melissa Hartigan Photography.

Connecticut Maternity Newborn Photographer

As a Maternity and Newborn Photographer, every day I get the pleasure of meeting expectant couples and families that will soon will be welcoming their new baby. Not only do I love being a maternity and newborn photographer, but I also love photographing babies of all ages and capturing all the baby milestones.  As quick as the pregnancy and newborn stages pass, so does a baby’s first year and all the different stages. It is so important to document these memories with professional pictures before these moments are over and gone forever.
