Hello! Thank-you for visiting Melissa Hartigan Photography and viewing my most recent blog post. For those who are new to my blog, I’m a CT Photographer specializing in newborn and maternity photography. I am so happy to be a part of these families special time and truly hope you enjoy this recent post. Here is a little peek into a recent CT Newborn Session with Miss Amelia from Middlefield, CT.

Amelia Newborn Session

New mom Jen contacted Melissa Hartigan Photography to do a CT Newborn Session in my Coventry, CT studio with her new beautiful little baby girl Amelia. When a new mom contacts me, I ask if they would like we set up a time to meet in person so that we can sit down and discuss their hopes for their session.  With each and every session I custom design the setups used based on these meetings. I was honored that Amelia’s parents chose me to capture this special time especially since they drove over an hour and a half to come to my studio for her session.

Jen booked her due date when we talked in September. We had her shoot in December when Amelia was 8 days old. Although little Amelia did need to stop to eat a few times, it’s totally understandable and completely expected. I always allow time for feeding and extra Mommy snuggles for my little models; anything to keep them happy. I was able to capture some beautiful photos of Amelia. Just look at her so peacefully sleeping. I absolutely love taking photos, and put my heart into each and every photograph I take.

Mom choose Purples and Greens.

Miss Amelia’s mom choose the colors purple and green for her CT Newborn Session. She also wanted to do some holiday colors, so I put little Amelia in some maroons as well. I knew a holiday set up would have been nice, and luckily I purchased the wreath used the day before while out running errands. I spotted the wreath and knew instantly how I would use it. The props I hand selected worked perfectly for her, and wooden bucket was especially cute to show off those adorable cheeks.  Also throughout the session I used several headbands, little outfits and wraps.

Melissa Hartigan Photography has an extensive prop collection and a beautiful couture newborn wardrobe. Parents don’t need to worry about props or setups for their baby. I have it all covered. Clients just need to tell me two colors they would like to see used and from there I custom style their newborn session. Check out my Newborn Gallery for some posing and color ideas. For Amelia’s session, I used props from Goodnight Moon and cute outfits from Pooks and Lulu.
