For those who are visiting for the first time, welcome. I’m a CT Maternity Newborn Photographer with a professional photography studio located in Coventry, CT. I specialize in maternity, newborn, baby milestone, children and family photography. Expecting a baby is such an exciting time in your life, and documenting your pregnancy and newborn moments is such a wonderful way to celebrate bringing your baby into the world. Maternity and Newborn photography is among my favorite of sessions to photograph. I love to capture special events in people’s lives and give them heirloom quality images they can cherish forever of their pregnancy, new baby and as a family. When a client schedules their maternity and newborn sessions with MHP, I am documenting their beautiful moments as new parents and I am so happy to be a part of these memorable maternity and newborn moments for this family from Tolland County. Here is a little peek into this sweet family’s maternity and newborn sessions.

Fall Maternity & Newborn Photos – Maternity Newborn Photography CT

Julie and Tom were together for 10 years before they finally said their ‘I do’s’ and started growing their family. Expecting their first bundle of joy they booked their maternity and newborn sessions with MHP and we immediately began planning their Timeless Maternity Session while we waiting for their baby to be born.

At their outdoor fall maternity session, I got to know July and Tom a little bit and learned that after being together for a decade, they had a quick engagement and married in March of 2019. They had a beautiful wedding with all their friends and family, followed by a Honeymoon in Costa Rica – which is their favorite wedding destination. As a spontaneous couple they love to travel and when they plan vacations, they select their destination and ‘wing it’ for the itinerary. Knowing how they enjoy their vacations they decided to enjoy the pregnancy and wait until their baby was born to find out if they were having a handsome baby boy or a beautiful baby girl.

The maternity session before I capture the newborn session is typically when I get to meet my clients and we get to know each other a little bit during our session time together. Learning about the couple I’m photographing is helpful for when I meet them at the hospital for their Fresh 48 Session or they come to my studio for their Newborn Session. By the time their newborn session has arrived, we feel like new friends.

Connecticut Maternity Photographer

As a Maternity Photographer in CT, I get the pleasure everyday of meeting expectant mamas, couples and families that will soon will be welcoming their new baby. During their sessions, Maternity clients are always welcome to browse the studio wardrobe closet and borrow anything during their maternity sessions. The studio closet is carefully curated with beautiful maternity gowns from Sew Trendy Accessories to fit the couture and boutique style of maternity photography. Mamas have always appreciated having a selection of dresses and gowns to choose from for use during their sessions, and I am always happy to include these as part of scheduling your maternity session with Melissa Hartigan Photography. For Julie and Tom’s maternity session, Julie selected a long for fitted red maternity gown with sleeves. Not only were the fall colors outdoors gorgeous for their maternity session, but July looked absolutely stunning!!

Connecticut Newborn Photography

It’s a Boy! Once their baby was born and they found out they had a boy, they named him Declan Thomas. What a strong name for such a handsome little boy. Mom and Dad settled on blue, beige and tan colors. Declan looked so handsome in all the soft, muted colors and tones that I used for his baby pictures. Sleeping so sweet and so sound nearly his entire newborn session, I barely remember him making those sweet newborn sounds. He was so handsome and I adored being his newborn photographer!

When you book a session with Melissa Hartigan Photography, I give you MY ALL, before, during and long after your session has come and gone. I am NOT the photographer that starts a stop watch at the beginning of your session, I am NOT the photographer that will ever rush, I am NOT the photographer that will give up when I know how important a certain capture is to a client.

I AM the photographer that wants to capture your newborn, child, senior teenager or family as they are the day of your session. I love my job. Capturing moments and freezing memories in time to cherish always. It truly makes my heart full and so happy. I hope when anyone looks at a picture I have taken they see and know this.

When you are looking to book your newborn session, it is recommended to secure your newborn session preferably before baby arrives to ensure an opening for when your little one does make their appearance. Ideally, it is best to book when you are in your second trimester. When you book your newborn session, whether its a Fresh48 Hospital Session or a Posed Studio Newborn Session (or both!), you may also consider adding on a maternity session to your newborn booking and we can capture beautiful serene maternity pictures to remember your pregnancy by.
