As a Maternity Photographer in Connecticut, documenting your pregnancy is a wonderful way to celebrate bringing your baby into the world. Maternity photography is among my favorite sessions to photograph. When a client schedules a maternity session, I am documenting their beautiful moments as new parents-to-be. For Amanda and Michael, this is a little glimpse into their beautiful journey into parenthood with their first baby.

Amanda & Michael’s Heirloom Maternity Session – Connecticut Maternity Photographer

Amanda and Michael are one of the many, and sweetest couples that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the years that I’ve specialized in pregnancy photography. On their search for a maternity and newborn photographer in Connecticut, they came across my newly designed website and sought me out to be their maternity & newborn photographer. They reserved their baby’s newborn session and decided to capture their pregnancy with the Heirloom Maternity Session.

Boutique Maternity Dresses & Gown Collection – Maternity Photography Tolland CT

A few weeks prior to their scheduled maternity session, Amanda visited the studio to try on gowns and discuss her vision for her maternity session. She browsed the boutique collection of Sew Trendy maternity dresses in the studio, and selected her favorite three beautiful gowns to wear. She also selected a floral hair piece to accessorize her with the three beautiful gowns she selected.

Pre-Photo Session Pampering – Tolland CT Maternity Photography

As a professional portrait photographer that specializes in capturing the beautiful pregnant form, I always suggest a day of pampering for my mom’s-to-be before their maternity session. From manicures and pedicures, to a day at the salon with a hair stylist and makeup artist, it can really bring out the very essence of how an expectant mother-to-be feels about herself. When a mama feels her absolute best, it shines through during the maternity session and into the finished maternity portrait. The day of their maternity session, Amanda treated herself to some pregnancy pampering and went and got her hair, make up and nails done.

Beautiful Outdoor Maternity Photos – Maternity Photography in Connecticut

Amanda and Michael wanted to incorporate their dog into their maternity photos as asked if they could include their Great Pyrenees dog into some of the photos. I always love welcoming well behaved fur babies into the session and capturing some images for my clients and their growing family. Their Great Pyrenees is an absolutely beautiful dog, and I’m so thrilled with how beautiful the images are with the soon-to-be four of them.

Their session day was very chilly, but since Amanda wanted an outdoor session, we braved the cold and captured some very stunning images as a family with their dog, of them as new parents-to-be and of mama showing the love for her unborn baby. Amanda was not only amazing to brave the cold that day, but she is simply stunning all around!

Maternity clients are always welcome to use the studio wardrobe during their maternity sessions. The studio wardrobe is carefully curated with beautiful maternity gowns to fit the couture and boutique style of maternity photography. Maternity clients have always appreciated having a selection of dresses and gowns to choose from for use during their sessions, and I am always happy to include these as part of scheduling your maternity session with Melissa Hartigan Photography.
